Our client a combination of two companies (SMEs) is seeking to employ an accountant who is aggressive and flexible, expected to offer accounting services to the two growing firms.

 

Job Summary

The accountant will champion collection, organization and track financial information for the organizations

 

Responsibilities

1. Enter receipts and other accounting documents (organized by our administrator) into Zoho accounting software

2. Maintain proper accounting of goods through the procurement and production process

3. Prepare cash accounts and bank reconciliation on monthly

4. Prepare and issue standard financial reports to the directors

5. Collaborate with directors to create and update Financial Policy

6. Make monthly statutory filings (PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, VAT, etc.)

7. Make timely payments to suppliers and handle matters pertaining to service providers.  

8. Administer pay payroll and attend to adjustments as they occour

9. Maintain staff employment contracts, other company documents, licenses and undertake filings.

10. Assist with initial compliance and licensing requirements

 

Requirements

1. Must show evidence of high level of personal ethics and responsibility with ability to self-manage (prioritize, schedule tasks and complete on time, solve problems, etc.)

2. A holder of a degree in accounting, related courses like business studies, Economics, management.

3. One to two years general accounting work experience in small to medium companies preferably in manufacturing environment.

4. Professional qualifications in accounting including CPA or ACCA or an equivalent certification are a definite advantage.

5. A person of high levels of intelligence, adaptable to changing environment with a reputation of being honest and unquestionable high degree of integrity.

6. A strong believer in teamwork with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

7. Must have high analytical abilities, strong written and oral communication skills

8. Strong up-to-date technology expertise with sufficient use and experiences of accounting packages

9. Excellent organizational skills with a good ability to display commercial awareness  

10. Fast learner with a good sense of humor and willing to work in a flexible work style of multicultural environment.

11. Working experience in regulatory compliance requirements of KRA, KEBS, NEMA, NHIF, NSSF among others is highly preferred.  

 Salary

A starting salary of not over Kshs 60,000.00 will be offered depending on the current pay, experiences and qualifications
