Branch Manager (Mombasa)

Our client a rapidly growing insurance company specializing in general business that has just concluded with strategic rebranding and merger is seeking to employ a Branch Manager to lead their Mombasa Branch

 

JOB PURPOSE

The job purpose is to drive sales, retention of existing business, creation of new relationships while guarding the existing, customer service, credit control, ensuring adherence to credit control policy, market intelligence, training and managing the operations of the branch to achieve set objectives.

 

Duties

1. Offer overall branch leadership and management of the strategic business unit and coastal region as a whole through a team of staff and branch budget.

2. Maintain pipeline of prospects of at least three times average monthly premium targets

3. Actively follow-up of quoted business and carrying out negotiations to ensure high conversion rate.

4. Timely follow up and negotiation of renewals to achieve a minimum renewal retention of at least 70% of existing business and policy count.

5. Provide high levels of customer service to customers as per set turnaround times, through planned scheduled business visits, claims processing support and speedy issuance of certificates.

6. Gather market intelligence on risks proposed to the company including their prior performance in terms of loss ratios to guide underwriting on the same and ensure profitability

7. Ensure that full premium of risks on-boarded is paid on or before commencement of cover and credit, if any, is granted in line with approved credit control policy.

 

Competencies and sets of desirable behaviours required.

1. A degree in business course or its equivalent with a minimum of a Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance by College of Insurance.

2. Two to five years relevant work experience in general insurance.

3. Ability to make prudent decisions in a timely manner and initiate action plans

4. Leadership and supervisory skills

5. Ability to work other people and team building initiatives

7. Ability to create and sustain beneficial relationships and networks

8. Persuasive and ability to exert business influences

9. Excellent presentation and communication skills

Reimbursement

A guiding salary of Kshs 100,000.00 per month will be offered to the best candidate based on his/her capability and experience coupled with very attractive commissions.
