Our client, a fast growing credit and financial advisory business (MFI) is looking for candidates who can demonstrate professional competence, high degree of personal integrity and maturity, strong drive for success, and possess suitable qualifications for an ICT Officer position to be stationed at Nairobi.

 

Responsibilities

a. Performing system administration on the organization’s server and active directory, Domain, mail server, file sharing, and windows server and ensuring programming standards are maintained.

b. Identifying new emerging technologies and provide appropriate information and guidance on emerging and best practices in ICT  for micro finance firms.

c. Oversight of the ERP system and handling system issues arising by liaising with the service provider including hardware and software computer system maintenance

d. Managing company database and ensuring database security policy, daily backups

e. Analyzing network performance issues and breakdowns of systems and peripheral equipment.

f. Providing ICT user administration and support  by resolving user problems and offer help desk services and other support to computer users

g. Creating and maintaining user connectivity and creating user accounts based on organizations protocol and standards

h. Ensuring implementation of well-coordinated systems with sufficient controls in all areas of ICT

i. Taking a leading role in the development of ICT Value-added services such as mobile platforms

j. Effective operation, support, and continual improvement of existing business applications, computer hardware and networks (LAN);

k. Implementing computer security measures and guidelines to safeguard information against malicious or unauthorized access, modification, destruction, and virus attacks by ensuring antivirus programs, patches are installed and up to date

l. Reviewing, testing and evaluating both hardware systems and software solutions to determine their efficiency, reliability, compatibility and updating them as necessary

m. Conducting staff awareness on technological changes and emerging cybersecurity risks

n. Maintaining a backup of user data, CCTV and biometric data on various media; and Coordinating preventive maintenances process as scheduled

 

Qualifications

1. A Diploma or bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.

2. Prior experience in running an IT Department will be an added advantage including using an integrated mobile platform infrastructure

3. Technical competencies, networking, maintenance, SQL

4. Highly time management skills and personal organization are critical attributes

5. A person of high integrity and trustworthy is greatly desired

6. Strong communications and leadership skills

7. Demonstrate relevant skills or certification on Applications, Projects and User support

8. Strong analytical skills, technical skills and very keen with details

9. Results driven – takes initiative to achieve challenging work goals, focused, time and high standards conscious, and ready to work under flexible working hours

10. Problem solver and continuous learner – use of work challenges as opportunities to learn and identify new innovative solutions to problems
